I had a sad realization today that this is the only decent photo taken of me this year. I was trying to find a closer one of my face for a different project and couldn't find a single one! I guess I need to hand the camera over to someone else once in awhile. I need to stop ducking when Jamie has the camera. Don't I want my children to remember what I looked like?

Mel, I am totally with you on the mess in the kitchen. I usually let the playdough come out the day before I clean. I haven't broken out any paints in awhile. You were very brave to let Malynn go for and it looks like she enjoyed every last minute of it! In my experience the water paints do come out, good luck!!!!
Hands down, my biggest trial as a parent is surrendering the control; control over the cleanliness, control over the order, you get the idea. I HATE messes! I can't help it either, but I challenge myself all the time to give in and let my kids live. If you spray the paint right away, it usually comes out, however many washable paints aren't what they proclaim to be.
That is such a cute little family picture. I love looking at pics of my mom and I when I was little. So take as many as you can. You look great.
Hi Mel, I found you through Amanda's. Your little girl looks just like you! Your kids are gorgeous. I too need to embrace their inner artist but it makes me crazy. I usually just strip Caroline down if she is painting, or if she is in white, I love the bleach pens. It is fun to see what you are up to.
